Birth Doula Services

By: Sarah Kreif

What is a doula?

A birth doula is someone who helps you and your family emotionally and physically before, during and after your birth. A doula will bring education, knowledge and make sure you understand everything that is going on and that you are able to make informed decisions. A doula can also be very useful in assisting you with knowing when to go to the hospital, pain management, positioning and breastfeeding. Doulas have been proven to lower your chances of needing a cesarean and if it is something you are planning, a doula can lower your chances of needing pain medications.

A doula is not a medical caregiver and will not carryout any medical procedures or give you any medical advice.

My goal is to support families through the happy and difficult times of birth, pregnancy and postpartum however I am able to. I want to offer the same love and empowerment to families that my own family wanted and received in the perinatal time.
